Winners of the 61st Australian Export Awards

Winning Australian exporters take to the stage at the 61st Australian Export Awards

Fourteen Australian businesses were named winners at the 61st Australian Export Awards ceremony held in the Great Hall, Parliament House, Canberra, in late November.

Awards were presented across a range of sectors, including advanced technologies, professional services and international education, with Geelong based manufacturer of medical devices, Care Essentials, winner of the Regional Exporter award also named 2023 Australian Exporter of the Year.

Minister for Trade and Tourism, Don Farrell, hosted the awards ceremony and reflected on the quality and breath of businesses recognised through this Program.

He said: “I congratulate all winners across the 13 categories and recognise the 86 outstanding national finalists who are winners in their home state or territory.

“The quality of finalists this year was exceptional, and they are to be commended for their significant contributions to Australia's economy and the jobs they've helped to create.

“Collectively they employ over 22,500 people and generated $12 billion in export earnings.”

Australian Exporter of the Year, Care Essentials, received eight grants worth around $365,000 from Austrade’s export grants programs from 2003-2017, helping it to grow the value of its exports to $2.3m in 2017.

Today, Care Essentials’ Australian-made medical devices are exported to more than 70 countries. It is growing by 24% each year in the US and continues to forge new pathways in Europe, including Italy and France, as well as India.

CEO Ishan Sinha said, “Our contribution to regional employment makes us really proud.

“Export markets are generally bigger and more stable. This has allowed us to create more sustainable and permanent employment in our community.”

We congratulate all these impressive and worthy winners:

We encourage all exporters to adopt Australia’s Nation Brand to help their products and services go further.  These  assets are available for download from the Australia's Nation Brand Toolkit.
